Fidelius announces partnership with leading later living provider supporting UK over 60s with bespoke financial advice

Fidelius, the Bath-based advisory firm, has partnered with one of the UK’s leading providers of independent later living communities, Pegasus Homes, to offer specialist financial advice to its residents.

The partnership will see Fidelius help the communities of over 60s navigate the increasingly diverse options and implications of financial planning in later life, including common subjects of inheritance tax, how to draw down a pension tax-efficiently, and how to invest wisely to create additional income in retirement using equity from downsizing.

With some of the changes announced in the 2024 and 2025 Autumn Budgets still to come into force, including the changes to pensions and inheritance tax due to apply from April 2027, Fidelius is already seeing how this shifting policy landscape is prompting clients to reassess their long‑term plans. Frequent adjustments to tax rules are reshaping the decisions individuals face when selling a home to fund future rental or purchasing options, underscoring the value of reviewing financial strategies sooner rather than later.

This latest agreement with Pegasus Homes follows Fidelius’ recently agreed partnership with the British Medical Association (BMA) which sees Fidelius offering advisory services to its 200,000+ members.

Steve Skelding, Head of Commercial at Fidelius, said: “At Fidelius, we believe in a full approach to financial planning – it’s about looking at the whole picture to really understand all aspects of your life and finances. Then, once we know where you are, and where you want to go, we can give you really informed and tailored advice to help you achieve your goals and secure your future.”

Steve Bangs, CEO Pegasus Homes, added: “Pegasus Homes is dedicated to helping the over 60s live their best in later life, providing not only a carefully considered and designed home environment to do so, but also access to a range of services and expert support. Our partnership with Fidelius offers customers truly independent financial advice to explore their options in full when considering their move to a Pegasus Homes’ community, particularly in evaluating whether buying or renting makes the most financial sense for their individual circumstances. We want to ensure our customers have sound and comprehensive independent advice for the most informed decisions about their future – when considering a Pegasus home and beyond.”

With offices in Bath, Cheltenham, Chelmsford, London and Nottingham, Fidelius offers a suite of advisory services including wealth management, employee benefits, corporate wealth, mortgages and financial relocation support. Launched in 1998, the business has grown significantly through both organic and M&A expansion.

Fidelius has received investment from Swedish wealth manager Sӧderberg & Partners, which took a minority stake at the start of 2024. The group is using Sӧderberg’s support to enhance its technology and drive M&A.
